Privacy Policy
Introduction
Chill Creatures LLC ("we", "us", or "our") makes Histaminer, the website at histaminer.com. This policy explains what happens to your information when you use it. The short version: there's no account and no cookies. We count visits with Umami, a privacy-focused analytics service, and nothing it records tells us who you are.
What we count
For each page you view, Umami records:
- The page's address, which includes what you searched for or opened, for example
?q=banana. - The site that sent you, if any.
- Your browser, operating system, device type, screen size and language.
- Your approximate country, region and city, worked out from your IP address.
- When you follow a link to Calorie Tape, our food log for iPhone, and which link it was.
Umami uses no cookies, doesn't collect personally identifiable information, and doesn't follow you across other websites. We use these counts to see which foods people look up and whether Histaminer is useful.
What stays in your browser
Your recent searches and your light or dark choice are saved in your browser's local storage, so they're there next time. They never leave your device. Clear recent searches in Histaminer, or clear the site's data in your browser to remove both.
Other services
Netlify hosts histaminer.com and processes basic request data, such as IP addresses, to deliver and protect it. Histaminer's font is served from histaminer.com itself. The Ko-fi link opens Ko-fi's own site; if you use it to support Histaminer, Ko-fi's privacy policy applies to that payment.
Advertising and selling data
Histaminer shows no ads. We don't sell or share personal information as defined by the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and we don't collect any.
Children's privacy
Histaminer collects no personal data from anyone, including children.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data. The counts we keep don't identify you, so there is nothing we can link back to you to share or delete.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and its "Last updated" date.
